About rap music

It’s been quite some time since I posted something on #The3123 (exams), but after coming across a meeting today, I thought this video would be perfect for starting this next discussion.

It’s been 10 years since Chris Rock’s last video, but what has progressed? Do we remember what happened to Rock and Roll? Chuck Berry was the father of that genre; look at it now. Look at Kanye West then just producing songs for JAY Z and friends; look at him now. Friday and Saturday nights, I may not care, but I see the genre of Hip-Hop from it’s inception and ask myself: Who controls this music? Clearly not the rappers. How many of us can brag that we got S.D.M.G? Yeah, right. JAY Z, 50 Cent, and Birdman got nothing on what Lucian Grainge (Owner of Universal Music Group).

To my point, how many of us can actually defend today’s form of music?
